Jikiden Reiki® Sessions

Jikiden Reiki® is pure and simple original Japanese Reiki, and has over 65 years of experience to support it as a very effective, straightforward, and practical energy healing approach.

Jikiden practitioners are taught a clear framework for how to use Reiki to enhance the body’s natural healing systems.

A Jikiden Reiki® treatment is a gentle, hands-on healing therapy that transfers the balancing energy of Reiki through the hands of the practitioner. Treatments are noninvasive and non-intrusive. Some of the common experiences reported by recipients are a sense of well-being, comfort, relaxation, revitalization, warmth, heat, cooling in body temperature, tingling, and often a deep sense of inner peace.

"Jikiden® Reiki allows you to experience a Japanese form of Reiki in its original beauty, effectiveness and simplicity." Jikiden means directly handed down without alteration to the original Reiki methods. It is closely aligned with the Reiki Gokai (Precepts) for Health and Happiness authored by Mikao Usui, and its center is the Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai or Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan.

Reiki originated in Japan in the 1920's. Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki, evolved a system of healing he called Reiki. Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, was one of the twenty-two Reiki teachers trained by Mikao Usui.

Dr. Hayashi taught Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi. She took her first Reiki seminar from Dr. Hayashi in Ishikawa, Japan, in 1938 at the age of 17, and she practiced and taught Reiki in Japan until she died in 2003.

Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi, and her son, Tadao Yamaguchi are the co-founders of Jikiden Reiki. The Jikiden Reiki Association's primary purpose is to promote the teaching, and practice the form of Reiki that Dr. Hayashi learned from Usui. Mr. Yamaguchi and other Jikiden teachers taught by the Yamaguchis are currently teaching Jikiden Reiki seminars worldwide.”

(The above description of Jikiden Reiki was adapted from the Jikiden Reiki Association Official Website. You can find Jikiden Reiki seminars in your area by clicking on the link above. ** I recommend that you insure you receive authentic Jikiden training by attending seminars with qualified Jikiden teachers listed on the Jikiden Reiki Association website or contact the Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai or Jikiden Reiki Institute for a list of Jikiden teachers offering seminars in your area.)

Reiki professionals can be important members of a client's health care team. Research has shown that Reiki can help reduce stress, produce

health benefits, and is often used to help prevent and assist in improving stress related illnesses. Research continues to provide insight and support of the benefits of Reiki when used for various specific conditions. The value of Reiki has been recognized by many in conventional health care professions and it is used in many hospitals and cancer centers across the United States.

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCAAM) recognizes Reiki as a complementary healing approach. Reiki supports and complements conventional medical and non-medical treatments, as well as other alternative and complementary therapies. Practitioners do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe substances or interfere with the treatment of licensed medical professionals.
